OXFORD, AL — Historic Main Street Oxford is inviting community members to volunteer for its final downtown clean-up event of the year on Saturday, September 12.
The clean-up will take place from 9 to 11 a.m., with volunteers meeting at Simmons Park before heading into downtown Oxford.
Historic Main Street Oxford will provide the supplies needed for the event, including gloves, garbage bags, litter grabbers and buckets. Participants are asked to wear closed-toe shoes.
“Volunteering is a simple way to give back while connecting with others who care about keeping downtown looking its best,” said Hunter Gentry, director of economic development and Main Street. “Whether you come on your own or bring a group, every helping hand makes a difference.”
The September event will be Historic Main Street Oxford’s final scheduled downtown clean-up of 2026.
Individuals and groups interested in participating can register through the link provided on Historic Main Street Oxford’s social media page.
