Holiday Cheer Fills the Halls at Children’s of Alabama During Annual Parade

Pre-Thanksgiving Day Parade Held for Patients at Children’s of Alabama

Birmingham, AL — Patients spending Thanksgiving week at Children’s of Alabama enjoyed one of the hospital’s most cherished traditions on Tuesday as the annual Pre-Thanksgiving Day Parade brought holiday cheer through inpatient units.

Colorful balloons, themed floats, and even a few four-legged visitors made their way through the hospital, offering young patients a moment of festive excitement. Children could watch from their doorways or tune in through the hospital’s closed-circuit television system, ensuring every patient had a chance to participate.

This year’s parade broadcast featured several special guests, including CBS 42 morning news anchor Andrea Lindenberg. Additional virtual greetings and performances were shared by the Alabama Ballet, the Birmingham Squadron, the Birmingham Children’s Theatre, the Phi Mu Alpha Zeta Chapter at the University of Alabama, and the University of Alabama men’s and women’s hockey teams.

Children’s of Alabama expressed gratitude to the staff members, community partners, and Walmart and Sam’s Club locations across the state whose support helped make the event possible for patients and their families.
