We had the chance to speak to Amanda Cosper with Hoologan’s Harley-Davidson in Oxford. Amanda has been with the company for a month and she oversees the marketing department. When we spoke she wanted to express how much this company has already captured her heart. One of the main reasons is because Harley Davidson’s commitment to community involvement. The primary method being implemented is to start weekly events that will be held each Saturday at the dealership from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm. These events will be free to the public and will have food and entertainment provided to visitors. Amanda stated that she has two main goals. One, she wants to bring the community together. Community is family and Hooligan’s is not just another corporate business. Two, She wants to make sure that Hooligan’s has an impact beyond the immediate community. She wants to help all of Alabama and support communities in need because “this is what we are really here for”.
To show that spirit of community mindfulness in addition to the regular Saturday events there will also be special fundraising events held periodically. Three of these special fundraisers are coming up over the next few months.
May 29th – On May 29th Hooligans will hold a fundraising event where all donations go to Meals on Wheels Anniston. There will be a live band, hamburgers and hotdogs courtesy of Hades Hounds, a law enforcement motorcycle club. The Divine Cruisers will also be present to help assist with setup and the raffle. We will have multiple local vendors as well. Please note that vendors may charge for their items. Hooligan’s is still seeking donations from local vendors for the raffle so please contact Amanda if you are interested. This event will be Hawaiian themed so throw on your best Hawaiian shirt and come out and join us!
July 17th – Hooligans’ will host a Charity Ride for Rockin P Rescue located in Jacksonville, AL. Rockin P Rescue is a no-kill rescue that works on saving the dogs of Calhoun County one dog at a time. Atomic Slim will be providing live entertainment, there will be free food, cute dogs, and shaved ice! Look for more information to register to participate in the ride to the top of Cheaha Mountain and back to to the dealership.
July 24th – Hooligan’s will be hosting a Family Friends Day. July marks the one year anniversary of Hooligan’s and they want to celebrate with the community that made them successful. There will be free face painting, shaved ice, popcorn, and of course free food! All proceeds from this event will go to the Alabama Baptist Child Home and Family Ministry. This group works to find foster homes for the homeless children of Calhoun County. The homes they seek are not required to be faith bound, but must be qualified and safe environments. This organization is based in Anniston.
While Amanda’s focus was on sharing the community events we also wanted to find out more about what the dealership offers. They do sell motorcycles of course and the sales department also provides financing directly in house. Hooligan’s also offers motorcycle servicing at their dealership to make things easier for riders to have their bikes repaired. They accept walk-ins as well as scheduled appointments. They also offer a wide variety of apparel including, but not limited to clothing, jewelry, and accessories for your ride. Come by today to see everything they offer, you will not be disappointed. Hooligan’s also has a facebook page and direct website.
