Anniston, AL – In a significant stride towards combating human trafficking, the United Way of East Central Alabama’s HopeUNITED Anti-Trafficking Initiative has been awarded a generous $10,000 grant from the Alabama Power Foundation. The Elevate Grant is earmarked for initiatives focused on both intervention and prevention of human trafficking within our communities.

HopeUNITED is dedicated to aiding survivors of human trafficking by ensuring their fundamental needs are met, thereby allowing them to concentrate on the crucial steps towards achieving independence. Beyond direct intervention, the organization places a strong emphasis on community education, particularly targeting youth, to raise awareness about the indicators of trafficking.
