Anniston, AL – Saturday, August 27th from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm will be the Getting Started with Hypertufa Workshop at Longleaf Botanical Gardens’ Greenhouses. HyperWHAT? Lightweight and durable, hypertufa planters are fun to make from a mixture of peat moss, perlite, Portland cement, and water. The end result is a unique piece reminiscent of English stone troughs from another era. Join us for this workshop to learn all about hypertufa and create your own beautiful piece. The class is taught by East Central Alabama Master Gardener, Lee Culver. Lee has been making hypertufa planters and garden statuary for 10 years and teaching classes for master gardeners, public gardens, and various garden clubs for 8 years. The Hypertufa Workshop is limited to 15 people. Pre-registration is required. Tickets are $40 per person. AM&G members receive a $5 discount. Register online at www.ExploreAMAG.org or call 256-237-6766. Last day to register is Monday, August 22. Be sure to wear old clothes. Everything else you need will be provided.
