Jacksonville Area Crash Claims Life of Wellington Man

CALHOUN COUNTY – A single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning has claimed the life of a Wellington man, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).

The incident occurred at approximately 12:49 a.m. on Aug. 16, when Hunter C. Ramsey, 24, was fatally injured while operating a 2024 Yamaha YZF-R7 motorcycle. Authorities report that the motorcycle left the roadway on Nisbet Lake Road near Pleasant Valley Road, striking a guide wire.

Ramsey was pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash site was located about seven miles north of Jacksonville in Calhoun County.

Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing to investigate. No further details are available at this time.
