Jacksonville Arts Council Invites Youth to Participate in “Art in the Heart of the City”

Jacksonville Art Contest

Jacksonville, AL – The Jacksonville Arts Council is calling on the city’s young artists to showcase their creativity in the upcoming Art in the Heart of the City youth art exhibition. The event is open exclusively to Jacksonville residents and provides a platform for budding artists to share their work with the community during the city’s annual Fair on the Square.

Submissions are currently being accepted at the Jacksonville Community Center and must be turned in by the deadline of May 10, 2025. Artwork will be judged in three age categories:

  • Ages 5–10

    Blackberry Hill Summer Camp
  • Ages 11–15

  • Ages 16–18

All entries must adhere to the following guidelines: artwork should be 8 x 10 inches, with no digital art or wet oil paintings accepted. Each piece must include the artist’s full name, age, and phone number clearly printed on the back of the submission.

The Jacksonville Arts Council will judge the entries, and all accepted works will be displayed during the Fair on the Square on May 17, 2025, offering artists a chance to have their creations viewed and celebrated by the public.

This community-focused art event aims to encourage artistic expression and local pride among the city’s youth, while highlighting the importance of the arts in Jacksonville’s cultural landscape.
