  • October Senior High Soaring Eagle:
    • Gracie Bond (10th Grade)
      Teacher Jessica Oliver highlighted Gracie’s dedication to assisting special needs students and her involvement in track, Key Club, yearbook, and Bible study leadership.
  • November Junior High Soaring Eagle:
    • Emily Kim (8th Grade)
      Coach Albright commended Emily for her academic leadership, organization, and teamwork. Emily excels in sports and academics while actively contributing to school projects like the pumpkin painting contest.
  • November Senior High Soaring Eagle:
    • Victoria Solster (11th Grade)
      Recognized by Miss Dierman for her kindness and servant leadership, Victoria maintains a 3.85 GPA, takes honors courses, and dreams of attending dental school.

The board reviewed the financial statements for September 2024, presented by the finance team. Highlights included:

  • Accounts payable total: $1,347,928.62, sourced from state, federal, and local funds.

STEM Career Day at Kitty Stone Elementary

Dr. Barber enthusiastically shared highlights from the STEM Career Day at Kitty Stone Elementary. This event brought together a diverse group of professionals to expose students to various career pathways early in their educational journeys.

The event featured local businesses, industries, and community organizations showcasing career options in fields such as:

  • Law enforcement
  • Agriculture
  • Skilled trades
  • Science and technology

Interactive displays included activities such as cow-milking demonstrations, cartoon-making, and hands-on STEM experiments. Dr. Barber lauded Ms. Harper and the school administration for coordinating the event, emphasizing its role in fostering aspirations among students and strengthening ties with the local community.

Create Academy Ribbon Cutting

The Superintendent reported on the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Create Academy. This academy is designed to prepare students for the future workforce through hands-on learning and exposure to cutting-edge career opportunities. Dr. Barber noted that the initiative was well-received and marks a significant step in equipping students with skills needed in local industries.
