Jacksonville, AL – The Jacksonville Police Department (JPD) wrapped up its annual holiday bike drive on a high note, delivering 18 bicycles to the Jacksonville Christian Outreach Center (JCOC) as part of its final stop. Chief Marcus Wood shared that the community-driven initiative collected an impressive total of 53 bicycles, generously donated by Jacksonville residents and a few supporters from outside the city.
“We can’t thank you all enough,” said Chief Wood. “We’re glad you could help us spread a little joy this holiday season.”
The event was made possible through collaboration with local organizations, including Cheaha CASA, the Jacksonville Boys and Girls Club, and JCOC. JPD expressed heartfelt gratitude to these partners and to the many individuals and businesses who contributed.
The Boys and Girls Club went the extra mile, inviting officers to visit their facility and surprising them with handmade thank-you posters. The gesture exemplified the strong community bond that made the bike drive such a success.
While JPD captured moments with some donors, others preferred to remain anonymous. Each contribution, large or small, played a vital role in brightening the holidays for local children.
Chief Wood and the JPD team extended their appreciation to everyone involved, emphasizing that the bike drive was a testament to the generosity and community spirit of Jacksonville.
“This initiative wouldn’t have been possible without you,” JPD shared in a closing statement. “Together, we made the holidays brighter for so many children.”
