Jacksonville State Univ. Computer Science Professor Names Fulbright Scholar

Computer Science Professor Awarded a Fulbright

Jacksonville, AL – The JSU media department shared that Dr. David Thornton, professor of computer science, has been named a Fulbright US Scholar for 2023-2024. One of the most prestigious awards in academia, the Fulbright Scholars program is the US government’s flagship international educational exchange program. Thorton will travel to Graz, Austria, in the fall to serve as a visiting professor at Graz University of Technology. He will teach two graduate courses in game development and virtual reality and collaborate with Game Lab Graz. Commissioner Patterson, Commissioner Howell, and Jacksonville Councilwoman Sherry Laster.
