Jacksonville State University Bringing the Heat for the Cocky Cook-Off

Jacksonville, AL – The Cocky Cook-off is a busy day with many opportunity’s. You can donated to secure Dolly’s Pardon. Make a donation to an area on campus through the Cocky Cookoff event site (https://app.mobilecause.com/e/nqcRDQ) and help secure Dolly’s pardon! The Annual Fund Board has petitioned University leadership for the full pardon of Dolly the Chicken from this year’s Cocky Cookoff BBQ Competition and Festival. Come see Dolly the chicken on Aug. 13 at the BBQ festival in the RV lot next to the stadium. General admission is free, or text COCKYBBQ to 91999 to purchase VIP Pit Passes.

Show off your skills while supporting your favorite area on campus through Cocky’s Bake Sale at the Cocky Cookoff BBQ Competition and Festival! Participants prepare two of the same baked good or dessert and serve one as samples. The other will be sold to the highest bidder benefitting an area on campus chosen by the cook. Prizes are awarded to the entry that receives the highest bid, including a Gamecock red KitchenAid Stand Mixer!
Cocky Cookoff BBQ Competition and Festival • August 13, 2022 @ The RV lot on Mountain Street

The Cocky Cookoff, hosted by the JSU Annual Fund Board, is an amateur BBQ competition benefiting the colleges and programs at JSU through the JSU Annual Fund.

Teams will compete for the Grand Champion Cocky Grill Master title, or in the Backyard BBQ division for a chance to win cash prizes in a number of competition categories.

Join the grilling teams on Saturday for a classic BBQ festival featuring lunch, food samples, live entertainment, and activities for the whole family!

General admission to the festival is free! Pit Passes can also be purchased. $20 Pit Passes are your all access pass to the Cocky Cookoff BBQ Competition and Festival including admission, lunch and a t-shirt! Child lunch tickets can be added to your Pit Pass for an additional $5.

Both admission options give you access to the RV Lot for the festival where you can visit with the BBQ competition teams, sample and vote for favorites in the Taster’s Choice Competition, sample and bid in the Cocky Bake Sale, play games, win prizes, enjoy live entertainment, shop with vendors, and more!

Festival hours are 10:30 am – 3:00 pm, lunch served from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, and BBQ Competition awards begin at 2:00 pm.

Sample and vote in the Taster’s Choice Competition where cooks have prepared their favorite BBQ, slow cooker, or other recipes.

Satisfy your sweet tooth and support a good cause! Sample and bid in Cocky’s Bake Sale benefiting the JSU Annual Fund.
