Jax State Crowns 2025 Homecoming King and Queen

JACKSONVILLE — The Jacksonville State University student body has elected Coby Bonner and Coral Church as the 2025 Homecoming King and Queen. The announcement was made Thursday evening during the university’s Homecoming Carnival, just before fireworks illuminated the campus sky.

Bonner, a senior nursing major from Oxford, AL, is involved in Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, Jacksonville Association of Nursing Students (JANS), and the Student Alumni Committee for the School of Nursing.

Church, a junior accounting major from Pell City, AL, is a Marching Ballerina and a member of Phi Mu. She also participates in the Honors College, Beta Alpha Psi, and works as an Admissions Student Assistant.

The newly crowned King and Queen, along with their court, will be presented around 5:30 p.m. during pregame ceremonies at Jax State’s Homecoming football game against Murray State on Saturday at AmFirst Stadium. They will also take part in the annual Homecoming Parade, scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on Jacksonville Square and conclude in front of the Theron Montgomery Building.

Jacksonville State also recognized the following members of the 2025 Homecoming Court for their leadership, service, and school spirit:

  • Gracie Countryman, senior biology major from Steele, AL. Resident Assistant at North Village, Community Events Coordinator for Delight Ministries, member of the ASMSA Club.

  • Jeriah Freeman, senior marketing major from Alexander City, AL. Jax State Cheerleader, Cheer Social Media Manager, Student Athlete Advisory Committee Member.

  • Kaylee George, senior exercise science and wellness major from Fort Payne, AL. Involved in Phi Mu Kappa Sigma, Jax State Panhellenic (Rho Gamma), Lambda Sigma Honors Society, and National Society of Leadership and Success.

  • Emmie Grizzard, senior secondary education and biology major from Roopville, GA. Gamecock Orientation Leader, Jax State Ambassador, Zeta Tau Alpha, Order of Omega, and involved in numerous campus organizations.

  • Colby Amos, senior communication major from Silver Creek, GA. Member of Delta Chi Fraternity, Student Senate, and JSU College Republicans.

  • Hayden Gallahar, junior accounting major from Oxford, AL. Treasurer of Pi Kappa Alpha, GO! Leader and Coordinator, SSC 101 Peer Mentor.

  • Oscar Ibarra, senior social work major from Gadsden, AL. GO! Leader, member of Alpha Psi Lambda, El Latido, and FirstGen Society.

  • Trey Marshall, junior special education major from Brantley, AL. GO! Leader and Coordinator, Jax State Ambassador, Vice President of First Gen Society, and 2025–2026 Mr. Friendly.

The university’s Homecoming celebration will continue throughout the weekend, culminating in Saturday’s football game and parade festivities.
