Jacksonville State University PRSSA Chapter Wins Three Statewide Honors at 2025 PRSA Best of the Best Awards

Jacksonville, AL – Jacksonville State University is celebrating a major achievement by its Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) Chapter, which earned three top honors at the Alabama PRSA 2025 Best of the Best Student Awards.

The awards recognize the chapter’s outstanding work in building community, elevating student engagement, and fostering professional development. The chapter received the following distinctions:

  • Chapter Development Award – This award celebrates the chapter’s strategic focus on purpose and passion, recognizing its ambitious goals to enhance membership value and visibility. From fundraising initiatives and professional development workshops to community service and state/national programming, the chapter demonstrated a well-rounded approach to growth.

  • Chapter Newsletter Award – Honored for its engaging and immersive newsletter, the chapter impressed judges with high-quality, creative communication designed specifically for chapter members and communication majors, helping to keep students informed and inspired.

  • Chapter Access & Engagement Award – This award recognized efforts to increase campuswide involvement and celebrate diversity in the field of public relations. Key highlights included the chapter’s Diversity in PR panel, inclusive membership outreach, and PR Pioneers social media spotlights, along with workshops led by a wide range of professionals.

These achievements are a direct result of the dedication and creativity of the student-led team and the supportive guidance of faculty advisor Dr. Kate Stewart.

“This recognition is a testament to the power of student initiative, collaboration, and the real-world impact of public relations,” said a university spokesperson. “We are incredibly proud of our PRSSA chapter for their commitment to excellence and innovation.”

Participation in Jax State’s PRSSA chapter provides students with hands-on experience, leadership development, and networking opportunities—skills that are crucial for launching successful careers in public relations and related fields.
