Jacksonville, AL – Jacksonville State University (Jax State) School of Nursing is proud to announce the reaffirmation of accreditation for its nursing programs by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). This accreditation, extended until June 30, 2034, covers Jax State’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs.

The reaffirmation follows a comprehensive on-site evaluation conducted in October 2023. The CCNE Board of Commissioners approved the accreditation in April 2024, confirming that all Jax State nursing programs meet all four accreditation standards without any compliance concerns.

“We are thrilled to receive this reaffirmation of accreditation from CCNE,” said Dr. Betsy D. Gulledge, Jax State Chief Nursing Administrator, Associate Dean, and Professor of Nursing. “This achievement reflects our unwavering commitment to excellence in nursing education and the dedication of our faculty, staff, and students. As stated in our School of Nursing vision statement, ‘Empowering exemplary nurses to care for anyone, anytime, anywhere,’ we will continue to strive for the highest standards in preparing our students to meet the evolving healthcare needs of our communities.”

The accreditation process is a rigorous evaluation that assesses the quality and integrity of nursing programs, ensuring they meet or exceed national standards. “Our nursing programs have demonstrated excellence in curriculum, faculty qualifications, student outcomes, and program resources,” said Dr. Tracey Matthews, Dean of the College of Health Professions and Wellness at Jax State. “This accomplishment reaffirms our commitment to providing high-quality nursing education, ensuring both the public and the healthcare community that we continue to positively impact the health and well-being of our communities.”
