Jacksonville, AL – Jacksonville State University (JSU) invites the public to celebrate the dedication of Ramona Wood Hall as the new home for the Department of Criminal Justice and Forensic Investigation. The event will take place on Wednesday, October 9, from 2:00-4:00 p.m., with the dedication ceremony scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at the building’s main entrance on the Quad.
Following the ceremony, guests are welcome to enjoy refreshments and explore the newly renovated facility, which features state-of-the-art learning environments, including the H. Dean Buttram, Jr. Lecture Hall, a mock courtroom, and a mock crime scene house. The event will also showcase upcoming additions such as digital forensics and cadaver labs, designed to enhance the department’s academic offerings.
JSU faculty and staff will be available to provide tours and share insights into the department’s vision and cutting-edge resources that will benefit students pursuing careers in criminal justice and forensic science.
In celebration of this milestone, a tailgate will be held after the dedication until 6:00 p.m., leading up to the Jacksonville State football game against New Mexico State, which kicks off at 6:30 p.m.
