4TH ANNUAL PRIDE ON THE QUAD

Jacksonville, AL – Jacksonville State University (JSU) is gearing up to celebrate inclusivity and diversity with its 4th Annual Pride on the Quad event, taking place on Thursday, October 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event, which will be held on the JSU Quad, invites LGBTQ+ students, faculty, staff, and allies to join in the day-long festivities.

This year’s Pride on the Quad promises a vibrant atmosphere with food, organization tabling, music performances, and various activities. Highlights of the event include live music from the Steel Drums Band and Jazz Combo, adding an exciting rhythm to the celebration. Attendees will also have the opportunity to engage with LGBTQ+-supportive organizations on campus and learn more about the community.

A notable feature of this year’s event is the “Pie in the Face” contest. Sponsored by the LGBTQ+ Faculty and Staff Collective, the fundraiser is aimed at supporting the LGBTQ+ Student Scholarship and LGBTQ+ Campus Events Fund. Contestant jars will be set up with pictures of students, staff, and faculty, and attendees are encouraged to donate money into the jar of the person they want to see get pied. The person with the most money in their jar will receive the honorary pie to the face, all in good fun and for a great cause.

This annual celebration is hosted by the LGBTQ+ Faculty & Staff Collective, Full Spectrum, Sigma Alpha Iota, Alpha Psi Omega, and other supporting organizations, and is proudly sponsored by the Jax State LGBTQ+ Alumni Network.
