Jacksonville, AL – Jacksonville State University’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Sciences is set to host an enlightening lecture on body activism featuring Dr. Rekha Nath, author of It’s OK to Be Fat. The event will take place on Wednesday, April 9, at 6 p.m. in the Houston Cole Library, 11th floor, Room 1103AB.
Dr. Nath, a distinguished scholar and advocate, will lead an engaging discussion on body activism, challenging societal norms surrounding body image and promoting inclusivity. Her work explores the intersection of ethics, philosophy, and body politics, encouraging critical reflection on how society perceives and treats diverse body types.
This lecture is presented by the Department of History & Foreign Languages and promises to be a thought-provoking session for students, faculty, and community members interested in discussions on body positivity, identity, and social justice.
