JACKSONVILLE, AL – Jacksonville State University’s College of Arts, Humanities, and Sciences is set to host the River Reels & Tales event on Tuesday, April 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Merrill Basement Auditorium. Presented by the Department of Biology, the evening will feature a film screening and discussion focused on environmental conservation and the health of Alabama’s waterways.
The event will include a special collaboration with the Coosa Riverkeeper, a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting, restoring, and advocating for the Coosa River and its tributaries. Attendees will have the opportunity to view compelling film content related to river conservation, followed by an in-depth discussion with representatives from the Coosa Riverkeeper, who will provide insights into the challenges facing Alabama’s waterways and ongoing conservation efforts.
This two-hour event is designed to engage students, faculty, and community members in meaningful dialogue about the impact of environmental stewardship and the role individuals can play in protecting local ecosystems.
