Jacksonville Woman Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 431

CALHOUN COUNTY, AL  — A two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, April 24, claimed the life of a Jacksonville woman.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Sandra M. Murray, 63, was fatally injured when the 2011 Ford Focus she was driving was struck by a 2012 Volvo tractor-trailer. The truck was driven by Jacob L. McKnight, 30, of Centre.

Murray was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash happened on U.S. 431 near the 237 mile marker, approximately two miles north of Anniston in Calhoun County.

Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing to investigate the incident. No further information is available at this time.
