Gamecocks to Kick Off First Season in FBS

Jacksonville, AL – The JSU press department announced that Jax State Football will make university history on Saturday, August 26th when it kicks off its inaugural season in the Football Bowl Subdivision. The Gamecocks will face off against the University of Texas El Paso at 4:30 p.m. in JSU Stadium. The matchup will be nationally televised on CBS Sports. Go Gamecocks!

It’s also a big day for the Marching Southerners, as the famed band embarks on its 30th season under the direction of Dr. Ken Bodiford. The halftime show, “Reflection,” will feature fan favorites from the past three decades, selected by popular vote in the spring. You don’t want to miss another great season from the nation’s best marching band, before we send it off to Normandy this summer for the 80th anniversary of D-Day. Blow Southerners!
