Jefferson’s Teacher of the Year

Jacksonville and Oxford, AL – Jefferson’s restaurants in Jacksonville and Oxford have proudly announced their 2025 Teachers of the Year, honoring two outstanding educators who exemplify dedication, creativity, and compassion in the classroom.

Cameron Martin Named Jefferson’s – Jacksonville Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Cameron Martin, a fifth-grade science teacher at Weaver Elementary School, who has been named Jefferson’s Jacksonville Teacher of the Year for 2025. Mrs. Martin’s impact in the classroom is unmistakable, as reflected in the heartfelt nominations submitted by colleagues, parents, and students.

“She creates a classroom environment that is inclusive, encouraging, and inspiring, making every student feel seen and valued,” one nominator wrote. “Whether staying after school to offer extra help, finding creative ways to make lessons engaging, or simply being a positive role model, she demonstrates an unwavering commitment to her students’ growth and success.”

Another described her energy and creativity: “Mrs. Martin goes above and beyond for her students by planning fun activities and hands-on science labs. She has a very bubbly and fun-loving personality that really reaches the students.”

And in perhaps the most memorable praise, one student declared: “She’s the GOAT. Not much else needs to be said. Looks just like Ms. Frizzle and acts like her.”

In recognition of her achievements, Mrs. Martin will receive a $500 Jefferson’s gift card and a commemorative plaque, which will be displayed at the Jacksonville location for all to see.

Sandra Plummer Named Jefferson’s – Oxford Teacher of the Year

Jefferson’s in Oxford has named Sandra Plummer of Trinity Christian Academy as its 2025 Teacher of the Year. A veteran educator with 25 years of experience, Mrs. Plummer currently teaches K2 and K4 and is known for her resilience, devotion, and warmth.

Her nominators praised her ability to create a nurturing environment for young learners. “Mrs. Plummer is always coming up with new games for her students, fun songs, and special incentives to keep them motivated,” one grandparent shared. “All of my grandkids have experienced her classroom, and she knocks it out of the park EVERY year!”

Another noted her dedication during challenging times: “She has always gone the extra mile to make sure that her children know they are loved, as well as them learning all that they need to succeed in K5. This year she has really gone above and beyond, taking over additional teaching duties when another teacher had to leave unexpectedly.”

Mrs. Plummer will also receive a $500 Jefferson’s gift card and a commemorative plaque, which will be proudly displayed at the Oxford restaurant.

Jefferson’s received an overwhelming number of nominations this year, a testament to the many exceptional teachers in the area. The restaurant chain expressed gratitude to all those who submitted nominations and to the educators who continue to shape and inspire their communities.
