JACKSONVILLE, AL – Jefferson’s Restaurant is launching its first-ever “Jefferson’s Teacher of the Year” award in celebration of National Teachers’ Day on Tuesday, May 6. This initiative aims to recognize educators who have made a meaningful impact on their students and communities through their dedication and passion for teaching.
The award will be presented at Jefferson’s locations in Jacksonville and Oxford, each of which will select one outstanding teacher to be honored. Teachers who live or work within a 10-mile radius of either city are eligible for nomination. Community members, students, parents, and school officials can submit nominations now through April 11 at 11:59 p.m.
Each winner will receive a $500 Jefferson’s gift card and will have their name engraved on the newly established “Jefferson’s Teacher of the Year” recognition plaque, which will be displayed in the respective restaurant. The locations participating in this initiative include:
- Jacksonville: 407 Pelham Road N
- Oxford: 230 Spring Branch Drive
Jefferson’s President Brandon Graham emphasized the importance of the program, stating, “A great teacher is life-changing. Our teachers give so much to our kids and communities—passion, sacrifice, hard work, and leadership, to name just a few—and Jefferson’s is community-first. We’re very excited to announce this new program to spotlight one of the many deserving teachers here.”
This initiative follows Jefferson’s successful “Coach of the Year” program, which was introduced last year to honor outstanding coaches. The “Teacher of the Year” award extends the restaurant’s commitment to recognizing influential community members who often go unrecognized.
Community members who wish to nominate a teacher can do so by submitting an entry through their local Jefferson’s nomination form during the submission period. The winners will be announced on National Teachers’ Day, Tuesday, May 6.
