The Key Club hosted karaoke in the JHS cafeteria Thursday during seventh period. All the money collected from admission and entry fees will be donated to Children’s Hospital. Mrs. Tracey Garrett, 8th grade English teacher, and Coach Phillip Hunt, 8th grade history teacher, performed in the spectacular event. Students who performed were Dominick Ragland, Isabelle Herbert, Anaya Scruggs, Grace Shelton, Reese Hines, Ian Johnson, Ethan Endinger, Arizona Arrington, Austin Drummonds, Savannah Hamm, Libby Patterson, Gage Johnson, Ethan Bivins, Reagan Simmons, Anjoli Goodbread, and Khadajah Richardson.
Students who organized, set up, and worked during the event were Alex Gilbert, Devon Hamilton, Savannah Hamm, Cole Gaddy, Oliver Young, and Jud Grass.
All the students who participated did an amazing job. It was an afternoon full of incredible talent, laughs, and great friends supporting each other. Key Club plans to hold another karaoke period in the future.
The Anniston Kiwanis Club sponsors the JHS Key Club. The Key Club is a student-led organization, which provides its members with opportunities for service, character development, and leadership. Members are chosen through teacher recommendations. The club’s motto is “Caring is our way of life.”
