The Jacksonville Fire Department and Police were dispatched to an address on Mountain Street for an emergency medical issue.
Upon arrival first responders located the resident at this address outside the building in the front yard. The resident was determined to be deceased from an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound.
The Calhoun County Coroners office confirmed that all notifications had been made and the funeral home had picked up the body. There is no further investigation expected and no autopsy has been requested.
