Homecoming is here and there are many activities for JSU students, alumni, staff, and fans.

Homecoming Week is finally here! Alumni will return home this weekend to see the Gamecocks “Axe the Lumberjacks,” when JSU Football takes on Stephen F. Austin University on Burgess-Snow Field at 3 p.m.

Students elected the 2021 Homecoming Court last week. Voting for King and Queen will take place online on Wednesday, 12:01 a.m. to 4 p.m. Students will receive an email with the link to vote. The Homecoming Court and King/Queen candidates are:

Homecoming Queen Candidates:

  • Avery Bobbitt

  • Jherica Kirkland
  • Sarah Sumners
  • Madison Wisner

Homecoming King Candidates:

  • De’Onta Bush
  • Trey Caldwell
  • Jordan Johnson
  • Guadlupe Orozco
  • Quad Whitson

King and Queen will be crowned at the Homecoming Carnival on Wednesday at 5 p.m. Held on the lawn of the Theron Montgomery Building from 3-6 p.m, the free carnival will include inflatables and carnival games.

On Thursday, Houston Cole Library will host a Tailgate Party with free food and games from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A Homecoming Cookout will be held on Thursday night, 4-7 p.m., on Dillon Field.

On Homecoming Day on Saturday, start your day with the President’s Open House, 9-10 a.m., before the Homecoming Parade begins on Pelham Road at 10:30 a.m. A Homecoming Tailgate will take place on Dillon Field from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Homecoming Court and Alumni of the Year award winners will be honored at halftime. 

On Sunday, wrap up Homecoming Week with the annual UN Day Tea on the front lawn of the International House at 2 p.m., when JSU’s international students will share their culture in honor of the anniversary of the United Nations.
