Weaver, AL – On October 31, 2024, at approximately 7:48 p.m., the Weaver Police Department responded to a reported stabbing on Bailey Road in the Buckhorn Subdivision. The incident occurred during Halloween festivities, adding to the congestion in the area as families and children participated in holiday celebrations.
According to information provided by Chief Wayne Bush of the Weaver Police Department, officers arriving at the scene identified a juvenile victim, age 17, with a non-life-threatening injury. The victim was transported to the hospital by ground for medical treatment. A juvenile suspect, age 15, had left the area before the arrival of law enforcement.
Authorities confirmed that this was an isolated incident between individuals who were known to each other before the assault. There is no ongoing danger to the community.
Chief Bush also noted that off-duty officers from the Anniston, Jacksonville, and Oxford police departments, who were present in the area, assisted Weaver officers in managing the situation.
