To my dear brother,

I feel your absence like a shadow beside me. You were my brother, my best friend, my protector, and my heart. A part of my being I can never replace.
I remember your laughter, your voice, and how your smile could make everything better, now the silence echoes with memories of your gentle smile and kind words.
I walk through days heavy with loss, each step a reminder of the empty space where your presence once filled my world.
The pain of losing you is a constant companion, a whisper in my heart that you are gone. Yet in my thoughts, I hear your voice in the rustling leaves and feel your warmth in the quiet evening breeze. I find your gifts that you leave me, as if you are trying to remind me that a brother’s love never wavers.
My tears fall not just for the absence, but for the laughter, meals you cooked for me, adventures we had, secrets we shared, and dreams we once dreamed together.
I see your memory in everyday compassion, in every heart that loves and defends their family fiercely.
You taught me about strength and courage, and now when I struggle to stand, breathe, and live without you, I remember how you stood tall in the face of adversity and overcame any trial put in front of you.
Your passing has left a deep scar on my soul, a wound that time will never heal. But I carry your strength as a guiding light on the darkest days, a reminder that a brother’s love does not end.
With every tear that falls, I honor you; in every step I take, I feel your hand on my shoulder, moving me forward. The grief is heavy, the loss is deep, yet I find comfort in knowing that your memory is woven into the fiber of my being.
To say my heart is broken is not enough; I miss you more than words can tell. Your spirit lives in every moment of my day, in the natural beauty of the world around me, and in the simple acts of thoughtfulness I witness.
So here I stand, in the midst of sorrow and loss, grateful for the fifty-one years we shared and for the lessons you taught me about unconditional love and life. I give you my word that I will carry your legacy forward, to honor your memory in everything I do, and to continue to let your hand on my shoulder guide me.
Although I will not say goodbye, dear brother, I hope you heard my promise, every day, always and forever, I love you, that you felt my hand upon your face, the sweet, gentle kiss on your cheek that I gave you last, and if you did, it will be enough to carry my sorrow until our souls meet again.

Your loving sister,
Kina Satterfield Pampel
