The Coldwater Mountain Trail System has been developed with a shared vision from the local community, trail advocacy groups, and the City of Anniston, making it one of the best-kept secrets in the region.
“Thanks to the dedication of the Northeast Alabama Bicycle Association and local support, Coldwater Mountain has become a favorite among riders and a place where technical challenges and natural beauty come together,” said Ken Hickman, President of NEABA.
Life Time’s Coldwater Trail MTB & Run will offer a variety of race categories to suit all levels of participants, including technical mountain bike races and scenic trail runs through Anniston’s lush forests. Many of the trails were designed and maintained through collaborations with local volunteers and the City of Anniston. Over $4 million has been invested in the Coldwater Mountain area, with funding from the City of Anniston, state grants, and Innovate Alabama.
“The investment in outdoor recreation is helping to solidify Alabama’s position as a top outdoor lifestyle destination,” said T.C. McLemore, Executive Director of Outdoor Recreation Programs at Innovate Alabama. “The Coldwater Mountain event and Life Time’s involvement are key to showcasing east Alabama’s growing outdoor community.”
