Longleaf Event Center Presents A History of the Talladega Mountains

Third Thursday A brief natural history of the talladega

On Thursday, May 19, 2022 the Anniston Museums and Gardens will present Third Thursday: A Brief Natural History of the Talladega Mountains 1600-2022 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm at 920 Museum Dr, Anniston, AL 36207. Join them Thursday, May 19, at 5:00pm for a special presentation with Wildlife Biologist Jonathan Stober as he discusses the natural history of the beautiful Talladega Mountains. Stober will discuss fire ecology, the unique flora and fauna found in the Talladega Mountains, and his current restoration work.

Jonathan Stober is a Wildlife Biologist on the Shoal Creek Ranger District with the U.S. Forest Service. For the past 30 years, Stober has studied the amazing biodiversity of the Southeast including gopher tortoises and golden eagles. He is a practitioner of prescribed fire, a silviculturist of southern pine systems, and has a broad interest in restoration of southern ecosystems.
