CALHOUN COUNTY, AL — A multi-county mail theft investigation has led to the arrest of a suspect accused of stealing mail from numerous mailboxes in Calhoun, Talladega and St. Clair counties.
According to investigators with the Calhoun County Sherrif’s Office, Andrew Bostick is accused of accessing several mailboxes after turning off Highway 9 near Choccolocco Road before leaving the area with the stolen mail.
Investigative leads ultimately linked a vehicle to Bostick. Deputies conducted a traffic stop, during which they recovered a firearm and what authorities described as a substantial amount of mail from the vehicle.
Investigators have identified 18 confirmed victims in Calhoun County, with officials expecting the total number of victims to increase as the investigation continues in Talladega and St. Clair counties.
Bostick is currently charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and felony mail theft. Authorities said additional charges are possible as the investigation continues.
The case has also been referred to the United States Postal Inspection Service for further investigation.
