Anniston, AL — Main Street Anniston, in collaboration with Main Street America, Main Street Alabama, and the Small Business Development Center at Jacksonville State University, celebrated entrepreneurial innovation with its recent Pitch Competition, awarding $20,000 to support the growth of local businesses in downtown Anniston.
The competition featured seven local entrepreneurs vying for the prestigious $10,000 Bright Ideas Grant, sponsored by Main Street Alabama and SparkAL. Andrew Koehler, owner of The Kress Grand Ballroom, emerged as the winner with his visionary plan to transform the historic event venue into a Vintage Fair and Antique Market. In addition to the Bright Ideas competition, seven graduates of the GETUP Anniston program pitched their storefront concepts for the Main Street district.
