Man Killed in Calhoun County Multi-Vehicle Crash on Alabama 77

Ohatchee, AL –  A multi-vehicle crash on Sunday, December 22, at approximately 8:25 p.m. claimed the life of a Cullman man and left three others injured.

Caleb B. Falls, 28, was fatally injured when the 2024 Nissan Sentra he was driving was struck by a 2019 Ford Mustang driven by Robert A. Lavigne, 20, of Fort Campbell, Tennessee. Following the initial impact, Falls’ vehicle collided head-on with a 2015 Toyota Prius driven by Tracey P. Cleckler, 58, of Fort Payne.

Falls was pronounced deceased at the scene. Lavigne and a 16-year-old passenger in the Ford Mustang sustained injuries and were transported to area medical facilities for treatment. Cleckler was seriously injured and airlifted to UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

The crash occurred on Alabama 77 near the 91-mile marker, approximately one mile south of Ohatchee, in Calhoun County.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division is continuing to investigate the incident. Further details are unavailable at this time.
