Calhoun County, AL – On the evening of July 27, at approximately 8:30 p.m., the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office responded to an urgent call reporting a male lying in the roadway in the 400 block of Church Street in Hobson City. Upon arrival, the responding deputy found the man in a pool of blood, with a stab wound to his chest.
The deputy immediately performed first aid, working to stabilize the victim until Oxford EMS arrived on the scene. The victim was then transported to the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Hospital, where he is currently being treated for life-threatening injuries.
During the initial response, deputies located a witness who identified Oshae Dontrell Ball as the suspect in the stabbing. A Be On the Lookout (B.O.L.O.) alert was issued for Ball, and he was quickly located and detained by Oxford Police.
After a thorough investigation, Ball has been arrested and charged with Assault in the First Degree. He is currently being held at the Calhoun County Jail with a cash bond set at $20,000.
