On Friday, July 30th at 10:00 am there will be an unveiling of a Bronze Plaque honoring Military Police that have served. This event will be held at the Baltzell Gate Entrance.  In addition the ROTC Color Guard from JSU will be present and Probate Judge Alice Martin will sing. Almost 100 people have RSVP’d to the event including City Manager of Anniston Steven Folks who is a former military police.

The agenda for the event is below:

  • 10:05 – JSU Color Guard
  • 10:09 am – Singing of National Anthem by Judge of Probate, Alice Martin
  • 10:12 am – Introduce City Manager, Steve Folks
  • 10:13 am – Steven Folks to Speak
  • 10:18 am – Introduce and Bring Up MDA Board Members to Unveil Plaque
  • 10:20 am – Unveil the Plaque, Reading of the Plaque
  • 10:23 am – Thank You and Group Picture
  • 10:30 am – Shuttle Back to Parking Areas

The City of Anniston would like to make everyone aware of the Baltzell Gate Entrance closure this Friday, July 30, 2021 from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM.

The closure is due to the McClellan Development Authority’s event, which is being held to honor the Military Police that trained and served at McClellan with a plaque unveiling at the last remaining Guard House on Baltzell Gate Road.
