On October 1st Moe’s Grooming, Boarding, and Doggie Daycare became the newest business in Anniston. The location for this business is 433 Anothony Dr, Anniston, AL. The location is next to the owner’s home to ensure constant access to the pets in her care. The regular hours for this business will be 7:00 am – 5:00 pm; however owner, Summer Cofield Shears, stated that she is flexible and willing to work around her client’s schedules.

The Calhoun County Journal asked Summer about the services currently being offered. They provide grooming, baths, special shampoos, custom design cuts, pet safe color in a pop of color or full color, nail trim, nail grinding, anal gland expression, sanitizing treatments, blueberry facials, dematting, mud baths, boarding, and daycare. They have a full-time groomer and two additional staff members to work with the boarding and daycare side.

All dogs seen are required to be up to date on shots. Summer also stressed that there are runs inside, as well as outside play areas that are fully fenced. Weather permitting there are also kiddie pools stationed in the outside areas to allow for fun pool time! They have a full cat room and cat grooming available.

When asked what prompted her to start this business Summer explained that she has been professionally working with animals since she was 18. She has worked as the foster coordinator with Sandi Paws and worked as a vet tech. She often worked 12 hours shifts and felt guilty about leaving her babies and she worried about the care they received when she was away. She decided she wanted to start a business that allows people to have the peace of mind of knowing their pets were well cared for and loved even when they weren’t able to be with them. She wants her business to be fun and safe. This also fulfills her lifetime love and passion for animals. The name is special because it is named after her beautiful Moe that passed, but is still loved and in her heart.  She looks forward to growing this business and meeting the dogs and cats of Calhoun County. She is currently taking appointments for the upcoming holidays. Spots are filling up so don’t forget to book your appointment now by calling 256-452-9110 or visiting the facebook page
