Calhoun County, AL – Popular brand once again tops Championship A among flights for Sunny King Charity Classic

The names for the eight flights in this year’s Sunny King Charity Classic are on leaderboard, and once again the red-hot Ford Mustang tops the field as the name of the Championship A flight.

It will be the 11th time since 2009 the flight has carried the name and the second year in a row.

The top flight had been the Mustang every year from 2012 through 2018 until tournament organizers pumped the brakes in favor of the Ford Lightning in 2019 and 2021. COVID canceled the tournament in 2020.

The Championship B flight carries the Lightning banner this year.

Flight names have always been drawn from the brands offered by the tournament’s title sponsor, Sunny King Automotive Group.

The other flights in order are named RAV 4, Integra, Pilot, Mach E, Camry and Accord. Only the Mustang and the Honda Pilot carry over from last year’s flight names.

This year’s Classic tees off Sept. 15. The last two have spilled over into multi-hole playoffs on the 16th hole at Anniston Country Club.
