Piedmont, AL – Per Piedmont Chief of Police, Nathan Johnson, on March 16, 2023 at approximately 12:41pm Officers responded to the Piedmont High School in reference to a Snap Chat picture and videos that surfaced where an individual had a gun on campus that day and was making threats toward the police with that weapon and posted on Snap Chat of the threat in the high school parking lot. Once the school administration was informed of the threat, the school went into a lockdown and the Law Enforcement was notified. The campus was cleared to ensure the individual was not on the campus. During the investigation it was confirmed that Kenneth Cole Candelario, age 19 who currently resides in Piedmont, was the individual that made the threat. A warrant for Kenneth Candelario was issued for Terroristic Threats and he was quickly taken into custody. Kenneth Candelario was interviewed by investigators and then transported to the Calhoun County Jail where a $10,000 bond was set with a Preliminary Court date of April 17, 2023.
