William Osbourn Shot by Police

On October 12, 2021 the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office listed William Osbourn as one of their most wanted. Osbourn has a probation violation warrant in Calhoun County that stemmed from a Robbery 1st degree charge. Osbourn was one of four that were charged with robbery at the Samco on US-78 in Eastaboga, Al. Osbourn and the three others attempted to steal cash from the gas station and threatened to hurt the attendant with a crowbar. He plead guilty in Calhoun County and was sentenced to serve 50 months in jail and remain on probation for 180 months (15 years). 

On Wednesday October 13, 2021 Osbourn was seen by Sylacauga police officers and they attempted to establish contact with him. Osbourn began to run when he saw the officers and then pulled a firearm and started shooting multiple rounds into the responding police vehicle. The officer then returned fire striking Osbourn in the lower abdomen causing him to stop shooting. The uninjured officer then provided first aid until medical units arrived and transported him to UAB for treatment.

Osbourn was later released from the hospital and transported to the Talladega County jail where is currently charged with Attempted Murder and Shooting Into An Occupied Vehicle. His bond is set at $250,000 and the warrant in Calhoun County remains active until he is transported to the county jail.
