  • Welcome/Invocation –  Kevin Mitchell, Oxford First Baptist Church
  • Pledge of Allegiance
  • Approval of Minutes of March 12, 2024
  • Old Business – None
  • New Business
    • Public Hearing – to receive comments on the condemnation notice sent to Patricia Watson for a structure located at 65 Moore Street to show cause, if any, as to why the structure located on the property should not be condemned – No Comments
    • Resolution No. 2024 – 33 – Resolution condemning the structure located at 65 Moore Street. – Unanimously Approved
    • Consent Agenda: –Unanimously Approved
      • Resolution No. 2024- 34 – Resolution to amend the FY2024 Budget in the total amount of $5,000.00 for an appropriation to the Kiwanis Club of Oxford to assist with a fishing rodeo for the youth of the area at Choccolocco Park.
      • Resolution No. 2024- 35 – Resolution appointing Council Member Henderson as the Voting Delegate for the Business Session of the Annual Convention of the Alabama League of Municipalities.
      • Resolution No. 2024- 36 – Resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Service Agreement with Daybreak Media for advertising services at Choccolocco Park for the two video scoreboards and the park entry digital sign.
        • This will be for three signs. One will be at the baseball field, one at the softball field, and one at the entrance.
        • Resolution No. 2024- 37 – Resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Lease Agreement with Ignite Sports, LLC for a home field for a competitive wood bat baseball affiliate team at Choccolocco Park.
          • This will not be for exclusive rights of the signature field, but it will guarantee use on the weekends for home games. There will also be a merchandising building as well. Tickets will be sold for $10 a seat. This will be for the Oxford Monster’s team.
      • Resolution No. 2024- 38 – Resolution reappointing Greg Thrower to the Zoning Board of Adjustments
      • Resolution No. 2024- 39 – Resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute an agreement with Calvin Munroe Architect LLC for architectural design services for the Alabama Children’s Museum.
        • The first step will be renderings that can then be used for fundraising efforts. Renderings should be completed within 90 days. This project is estimated to cost between $8-10 million.

  • Set a Public Hearings for April 9, 2024, to consider the following requests which were considered by the Oxford Planning Commission at their March 5, 2024 meeting: Zoning request from Stan Bush – PAC Enterprises to rezone property located at 2005 Barry Street from General Manufacturing District (M-2) to Planned Development 3 District (PD-3)
  • Zoning request from The RTR Living Trust – Garey Morrison to rezone property located at 1870 Bynum Boulevard from General Business District (GB) to Light Manufacturing District (M-1)
  • Visitors – None
  • Motion to adjourn to Executive Session. – Unanimously Approved
