Oxford City Council Takes Swift Action: Revokes Business License Amidst Fraud Allegations and Awards New Trash Contract

    • Public Hearing – to receive comments on the proposed business license suspension/revocation notice sent to Pro Quality Services LLC, Kenneth Nicholas Askea, 2055 County Road 67, Roanoke, AL, 36274, to show cause, if any, as to why said business license should not be suspended/revoked.
      • During the work session and public hearing multiple people spoke to work not being completed, permits not being pulled, the owner having no valid contractor, plumbing, or electrical license in the State of Alabama.
    • Resolution No. 2023- 101 – Resolution revoking the business license issued by the City of Oxford to Pro Quality Services LLC, Kenneth Nicholas Askea, 2055 County Road 67, Roanoke, AL, 36274. – Unanimously Approved
      • After hearing the complaints and speaking with various state agencies who substantiated claims the vote was held.
      • Consent Agenda – Unanimously Approved
        • Resolution No. 2023-97 – Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into an Amendment for Engineering Services Agreement with CDG, Inc. professional engineering services performed relative to the design of resurfacing and drainage improvements along Bynum Cutoff Road in the total amount $379,485.00.
        • Resolution No. 2023-102 – Resolution authorizing the Mayor to accept the bid and enter into a contractual agreement with Arrow Disposal Service, Inc. for Residential Solid Waste Collection and Disposal.
        • Resolution No. 2023-103 – Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a Change Order One agreement concerning the Oxford Recreation Complex Renovations and Additions with Hale Building Company for a deduction to the original contract in the total amount of $8,864.90.
        • Resolution No. 2023-104 – Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a Letter of Agreement with the ASUN Conference to host the 2024 ASUN Softball Championships at Choccolocco Park.
        • Resolution No. 2023-105 – Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a Change Order One agreement concerning the Oxford Recreation Complex (Choccolocco Park) Renovations and Additions for the Signature Softball Locker Rooms with Hale Building Company in the total amount $29,034.00.
