Oxford City Schools Announces Free Summer Bulk Meals Program for Children and Teens

Free Bulk Meals for Kids Summer Program Announcement

Oxford, AL – Oxford City Schools has announced the return of its Summer Feeding Program, offering free bulk breakfast and lunch meals to children and teens ages 1–18 throughout the summer. The program will provide families with multiple meal distributions through curbside pickup locations across the Oxford area.

According to information released by Oxford City Schools, meals will be available for takeout only and may be picked up by parents, guardians, grandparents, or caregivers on behalf of children. Children do not need to be present at pickup.

The meal distributions will take place on the following dates:

  • June 1
  • June 11
  • June 22
  • July 2
  • July 13
  • July 23

Families can pick up meals at the following locations and times:

  • Coldwater Elementary — 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Hobson City Hall — 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
  • DeArmanville Elementary School — 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Oxford City Schools stated that parents or guardians must register for a pickup ticket for each distribution event, and tickets will be required at pickup. Registration for each event opens at 8 a.m. the day after the previous distribution date. Registration for the first pickup opens May 25 at 8 a.m.

Program officials noted that details remain subject to approval by the Alabama State Department of Education and could change if necessary. The district also noted that the Summer Feeding Program is offered as an equal opportunity program available regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability.
