Oxford, AL – Oxford residents are invited to come together for a meaningful cause as the city prepares to host the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. Scheduled for Wednesday, May 15th, at 9:00 am, participants will gather at Simmons Park in downtown Oxford, with a meet-up time of 8:30 am.
Unlike traditional runs, this event aims to create a family-friendly atmosphere by inviting school kids to join in and making it more of a leisurely walk around downtown rather than a run. Organizers assure that everyone, regardless of age or fitness level, can comfortably participate in the walk. For those who may need assistance, a trailer and an ambulance will be available at the back of the pack.
Participants are encouraged to arrive early to collect their event shirts, available for purchase at $15 each. Sizes XXL and larger are priced at $20. Join in the camaraderie before the walk begins, as the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics is not only an opportunity to raise awareness and support for Special Olympics athletes, but also a chance for the community to come together and show their solidarity.
As the date draws near, excitement is building among Oxford residents as they eagerly anticipate this inspiring event. Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or simply looking to show your support for a worthy cause, the Law Enforcement Torch Run promises to be a memorable experience for all who participate.
