OXFORD, AL – A new addition to Oxford’s recreational offerings, the Oxford Jump Park, will officially open to the public with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, June 26, at 11 a.m. Located on the grounds of the Oxford Lake and Civic Center complex on Recreation Drive, the new bicycle course is designed to cater to riders of all skill levels.
The dirt-surface facility features a progression of trails with a circuit of rollers, berms, and tabletops, allowing riders to navigate the course using momentum through body movements rather than pedaling or pushing. The layout includes three distinct lines built for beginner, intermediate, and expert riders.
Constructed by Oxford Parks and Recreation staff with support from the Oxford Street Department and Hale Building Company, the development was inspired by the needs of the Oxford High School Mountain Bike Team. The Oxford Mountain Bike Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to promoting youth cycling in the community, also played a role in supporting the park’s creation.
City officials highlighted the project as part of a broader effort to expand recreational infrastructure and provide meaningful opportunities for youth engagement. The park aims to support skill development and offer a venue for both training and recreation.
The public is invited to attend the opening ceremony and experience the new facility, which adds to the growing list of outdoor amenities in the city.
