Oxford Man Dies Following Vehicle and Electric Bicycle Crash

OXFORD, AL — A 67-year-old Oxford man died Wednesday following a crash involving a vehicle and an electric bicycle at the intersection of Alabama Highway 21 and Buckhorn Road.

According to the Oxford Police Department, emergency personnel responded to the intersection at approximately 2:20 p.m. Wednesday.

The crash involved one vehicle and a pedestrian who was riding an electric bicycle. The individual riding the bicycle, identified by police as Gary Lynn Standridge, 67, of Oxford, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Oxford Police Department, Oxford Fire Department and Oxford Health Systems responded to the crash.

Authorities have not released additional information regarding the circumstances surrounding the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
