Oxford on the Move: Community Engagement Session to Shape Future Bike and Pedestrian Routes

Oxford on the Move

Oxford, AL – The City of Oxford is inviting residents to help shape the future of the city’s transportation landscape at a community engagement session focused on proposed bicycle and pedestrian routes. The event, titled Oxford on the Move: A Plan for Bike & Pedestrian Routes, will take place on Thursday, February 13, 2025, from 6 PM to 8 PM at Oxford City Hall, located at 145 Hamric Drive East, Oxford, AL 36203.

The session will provide an opportunity for the public to offer feedback on a proposed trail that will connect downtown Oxford, Oxford Lake, and Choccolocco Park. This initiative is designed to enhance connectivity, promote active transportation, and create safer routes for cyclists and pedestrians in the community.

Application

City officials and project planners will present the proposed routes and discuss how this exciting project could positively impact the city. Residents will have the chance to share their thoughts, ask questions, and provide valuable input to help refine the plans for the bicycle and pedestrian trail.

“This is a great opportunity for the community to directly influence a project that will improve transportation options and the quality of life in Oxford,” said city officials. “We encourage everyone to attend and contribute their ideas and feedback on how we can make this vision a reality.”

To ensure that all perspectives are considered, the City of Oxford has created an online form where residents can submit feedback even if they cannot attend the event. The session is free to attend, and all are welcome to participate in this important conversation about the future of Oxford’s transportation infrastructure.
