Oxford, AL – The Oxford Performing Arts Center has officially announced the dates for its 2025 Spotlight Summer Theater Camp, offering a creative opportunity for young students to engage with the performing arts.
The camp will take place from Monday, July 28, through Friday, August 1, and is open to students entering grades 1 through 8 in the upcoming school year. Designed as a half-day experience, the camp introduces participants to various aspects of theater through hands-on workshops and rehearsals.
Campers will have the chance to work with professional artists and educators in areas such as dancing, singing, acting, and visual arts. The weeklong experience will culminate in a live performance of “Hansel and Gretel,” a youth-adapted version of the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale, staged for friends and family.
In addition to performance training, students will take part in costume preparation, prop design, and scene development, gaining exposure to both the technical and artistic elements of theater production.
The registration fee for the camp is $99 per student. Those interested can learn more and register online at oxfordpac.org. The Oxford Performing Arts Center is located at 100 Choccolocco Street in downtown Oxford.
