Oxford, AL – A daring burglary at Mountain Motorsports in Oxford, Alabama, unfolded in the early hours of Tuesday, March 11, 2025, when five individuals used a stolen U-Haul truck to ram into the building and steal multiple motorcycles worth $68,193.
At approximately 6:44 AM, the suspects backed the large U-Haul into the front doors of the business, shattering the glass and gaining access to the showroom floor. The group swiftly loaded several motorcycles into the truck before fleeing the scene.
Oxford patrol officers responded to the business’s alarm within minutes, securing the location and launching an investigation. Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division (C.I.D) and the Oxford Metro Area Crime Center (E.M.A.C.C.) quickly identified key evidence, including multiple vehicles involved in the heist and suspect information, using advanced crime center technologies.
As investigators worked through the morning, the suspects became aware that law enforcement was closing in on their location. In an attempt to evade capture, they abandoned the U-Haul truck along Interstate 20 near Meridian, Mississippi. The Mississippi Highway Patrol was notified and successfully recovered the truck, along with all the stolen motorcycles.
Further investigation revealed that the U-Haul had been stolen from a local business in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Oxford investigators have been in contact with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office as they continue to trace the movements of the suspects.
Authorities have identified one suspect, 22-year-old Davion M. Kibodeaux of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. An arrest warrant has been issued for Kibodeaux, and investigators are working to identify the remaining individuals involved in the crime. Crime scene analysts are still processing evidence from both the business and the recovered vehicle.
Oxford Police Chief Bill Partridge issued a stern warning following the incident, stating, “These criminals chose the wrong city! Don’t come here to do stupid things, we will find you.”
The investigation remains active, and authorities urge anyone with information to come forward as they continue working to bring all suspects to justice.
