Led by two-time MVP Thomas and outstanding defensive player Bonilla, Oxford finishes strong to repeat as Calhoun County volleyball champion.

JACKSONVILLE — Wendy McKibbin lives in the here and now. If she errs on a side, it’s understatement.
That’s why the veteran Oxford coach genuinely doesn’t know how many Calhoun County volleyball titles she’s won.
“That’s a good question,” McKibbin said Monday. “I don’t know. Twenty-nine years of this, and it all runs together.
“I know it’s two in a row.ntyI just know this makes it two in a row.”
Hitter Ava Thomas finished with 15 kills to garner her second consecutive most-valuable-player recognition, and libero Adriana Bonilla took most outstanding defensive player with 17 digs as Oxford topped Alexandria 25-16, 21-25, 25-20, 25-20 in Monday’s county final in Pete Mathews Coliseum.
