OXFORD — All four Oxford signees Wednesday had a story to tell, but the next chapter reads the same for each … a chance to play Division I college sports.
Basketball point guard Jaylen Alexander (Belmont) and three football players — wide receiver Jay’lin Taylor (Memphis), running back Caleb Wynn (South Alabama) and linebacker Keenan Britt (South Carolina) — celebrated their signings before a room of 200-plus family members, friends, teammates and coaches in Oxford’s Champions Athletic Center.
From Oxford basketball coach Joel Van Meter’s quivering mic-holding hand to Taylor and Wynn wiping away tears, the ceremony dripped with sentiment about the next new beginnings to long stories.
