Oxford, AL – The City of Oxford is inviting everyone to join in a celebration of its 173rd anniversary on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. Established by the Alabama Legislature on February 7, 1852, Oxford will mark this historic occasion with a birthday party at Oxford City Hall, starting at 4:30 p.m.
Hosted by Historic Main Street Oxford and the Oxford Arts Council, the event will feature a special performance by an ensemble of Oxford High School students, who will sing a rendition of “Happy Birthday.” In addition to the musical tribute, attendees can enjoy light snacks, take pictures at the photo booth, and meet Mayor Alton Craft along with members of the Oxford City Council.
“This celebration is an opportunity for the community to come together and reflect on the history of Oxford while looking forward to a bright future,” said Mayor Alton Craft.
The public is invited to attend this fun and festive gathering, which will take place at Oxford City Hall, located at 145 Hamric Drive East. It’s a chance to celebrate Oxford’s rich history and its continued growth as a vibrant community.
